MARBLE TRACK
“Marble Track is a third-person 3D grid-based sandbox game that tasks the player with making use of various parts and pieces to create a track that gets a marble from point A to point B in a creative, yet potentially convoluted way.”
This game was made within 2.5 weeks in Zach Abbott’s IM 488 – Prototyping for Capstone class. We were tasked to do something completely out of the ordinary for this class (of which we opted to do an Unreal Engine game inside of a Unity-based class).
I served as a Game Designer on this project as well as the main QA/UX person on the team, playtesting and making sure any major edge-cases were taken care of.
I also designed a technical flowchart via FigJam with the other game designers for the programmers to understand, as well as fully designed level 4. For my level, I wanted to play around with verticality, “multiple-ways-to-win”, and forcing the player to think outside the box on how they can utilize these pieces (whether how they use it is intentional or unintentional). Most of the UI sounds are also handled by me.
